Six Steps to Badass Business Cards

I remember this episode of In Living Color where one character was yelling at another character for being lazy...since they only had 5 jobs! It was funny and left a mark on me.   Because I feel like I have 1000 jobs, yet I can't go around listing my 1000 jobs, because that is just so very boring.

This was my dilemma with business cards. Although I want my cards to show how professional I am, I don't want it too look like a frenzy of information.

So how could I fit so many titles onto a business card? Do I link to all of my sites? It seems like a lot of info for tiny piece of card stock...and I want to peak interest, not have people throw it out.

my biz cards!

For a while I hesitated to get new cards because I didn't know what to put on them. Taking into consideration my 1000 jobs, these are the ones I considered for the business card:
  • I am a freelance writer, a blogger and I've written some short films.
  • I am an actress with a focus on film and television. I am also a producer.
  • I'm a lawyer and a social media consultant.
What else do I add? SuperMujer? That's a lot to take in. And how do I organize all of this?

I knew my purpose in getting cards: this wasn't going to be a blogger card (I've done that before).   It was going to be a card that shows how multifaceted I am, as simply as possible.

After about a month of back and forth, I started with these six small steps:

LushLunes: Love Is All Around Us

"As I notice love all around me, I look for more ways to love." This is today's "centering thought" from the Chopra Center 21 Day Meditation challenge.

Once again I've embarked on their meditative journey (which really began during my awesome Summer of Bliss Challenge). I've been keeping up my exercise, enhanced my meditative practice, and as a result I feel more peace and love around me,which certainly helps with a busy filming schedule (woohoo!).

This of course leads me to your LushLunes mission:

Find the love in the air today and acknowledge the presence of love out loud. Whether it's the sun shining, a smile from a neighbor, or a hug from a child, affirm the love and remind yourself that its all around you, because love emanates from within you.

Have a lovely Lush Lunes my deep thinkers!

LushLunes: Keep Challenging Yourself

I've been pushing myself to do more for ME. And what a journey it has been.

Sometimes you start out with one goal and when you reach it, you find you have already set your sights on an even greater goal.

If there is one thing you should know for sure, it is that you can and will DO IT. Ya gotta love a challenge. I know I do.

This LushLunes I am starting my 3rd round of the Chopra Center 21 Day Meditation challenge. Over the past month I have challenged my mind, body and soul, and it will continue with an intense soul challenge.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to join me and start to look at your life from a different perspective.

Here's the link so you can sign up, join the journey, and proclaim that you are " "ready to view [your] life through the eyes of love."

Have a fabulous Lush Lunes!

Chasing Bliss: The Summer of Bliss Challenge, Weeks 3 & 4 Update

I have been going strong my deep thinkers! I wasn't able to write last week or give you a LushLunes reminder because I was busy with meetings and prepping for a weekend of filming - and of course, exercising twice a day. It was a very "me" week since I didn't see any of my friends, family and not even my beloved Che. I was focused and needed to get things done.

Despite the chaos of a full plate, I am loving my fit mind-body-soul routine and have kept at it.

The Summer of Bliss challenge was fantastic, and helped push me to new levels. My confidence level is increasing (not so nervous about summer shorts) and I feel good. Endorphins truly rock!

My body craves exercise. It wakes me up at 6:30 and says "GO." I respond, "really? you're ready this early?" And my body goes, "Yes!" Then I get home, and once again exercise mode is triggered when I look at the pool-ready gym bag hanging by the door, screaming "take me!"

I also feel in tune with myself from moment to moment. That's a funny little thing that comes from meditation. Which is a great way for me to wind down, center myself, and feel like less of a stress ball.

Sugarless coffee, no soda, lots of veggies and... yes... I finally weighed myself. I love my curves and they are here to stay! Even though it's great that I lost some stubborn pounds, I'm most happy with the increasing definition and strength in my curv-a-licious frame.

I'm thrilled I committed to and accomplished the challenge to make my health first... and am hoping that I will continue on this healthy mind-body-soul journey. If I do, then I know it's gonna be a great summer!!!

Thanks for your support my deep thinkers! Y'all kept me accountable!
