I love this vlog! It touched me because for the last week I've been neglecting me because everyone else needs something. Mostly its work so thats an obligation I need to handle. I most certainly can prioritize and lput limits on too. So this weekend I'm just walking out of here and will not think of work until Tuesday.
It's so very true, whenever we have parties at my mom's house. Her and I (sometimes my sister) NEVER have much fun. Yes I'm glad family friends are over but us girls are the cooks, servers, waiters, etc. It's exhasuting.
I'm all for changing this "norm." Great VLOG! :) xo
This was beautiful and real and obviously so very personal for you. I'm not a Latina but I'm one of your Deep Thinkers and biggest fans (after your mom, of course!).
I know you were talking specifically to your Latina sisters, but I'll be an honorary one. As women we do need to be reminded often to take care of ourselves. Many of us grew up seeing our mom put everyone else first, making sure everyone else was fed and clothed and taken care of physically and emotionally, so we think that is normal.
We need to set in our minds a new normal. As a mom, I know that it's so important to set a good example for her.
Thank you for being brave, to say the words with your voice rather than just write them.
You are so right. As the mother of four (five if you include my husband) I know exactly what you're talking about. I give you so much credit for acknowledging this topic and being aware of it.
